Old Business

WX9W Repeater at Wyeville

  • Fred WX9W was not present so no status report was available.

Brighton Repeater

  • KC9NW – The repeater is running with no new issues.

146.22/.82 Repeater

  • There was an occurance of noise on the system on 7 September that probably was wind induced, as there were high winds that day. This has not been experienced since. It may or may not be our equipment at fault. For now no action will be taken.

D-STAR/Internet

  • K9PT - The Cisco 24 port switch is not having trouble with the other three ports that are used by the broadcast FM.
  • KC9LFG theorized that the RMRA may be configured as a VLAN and this may be where the problem is.
  • Long term solution may be a WI-FI or RF link up the mountian.

Repeater Controller

  • No change in status.

Annual Meeting

  • November 6th from 13:00 to 17:00 at the Community room at the Marathon County Public Library.

  • The backup date is November 13th.

  • Program ideas:
    • Program on user functions of the new LinkSys controller
    • Program on more detailed uses of the D-STAR system, e.g.: D-RATS, DPRS, Q-Forms.
    • ARES Leadership listening session inviting the ARES leadership from the counties in the footprints of the RMRA repeaters. This would include the Coloma and possibly the WX9W system at Wyeville. – K9PT suggested that invitations be sent out to the leaders in the surrounding counties, and a decision made based on the response. Approved by consensus. K9DB will draft an e-mail for electronic review by the board members.

New Business

Proposed RMRA “Broadcast Repeater” on Rib Mountain:

  • K9DB suggested the RMRA consider deploying a new UHF input VHF output repeater on Rib Mountain for the purpose of carrying NASA audio and other programming. He suggested the WCLQ transmitter tower and building on Rib Mountain as a possible site.

Proposed Satellite Repeate/Remote Input Site:

  • K9DB reported on the Central Wisconsin Radio Amateurs at UWSP meeting of 8 September regarding the establishment of a Brighton-class repeater/remote input to 146.82 located in the Stevens Point/Wisconsin Rapids area. The WWSP tower in the Portage County Town of Linwood.

Meeting adjourned 20:20 CDT.

Respectfully Submitted,
