Construction progresses on the new HDTV tower.

The above photos were taken July 21st from a vantage point east of the construction. The candelabra is nearing completion. The yellow crane is shown attaching the Ch-24 (DTV) antenna to the top of the Ch-20 antenna. The antenna in the background is Ch-7. Note there is no DTV antenna for Ch-7 at this time. The antenna on the right is Ch-9 (bottom) and Ch-29 (DTV) on top.

All antennae are horizontal polarization, traveling wave designs otherwise known as "Slot antennas" and were made by Dielectric, Raymond, Maine. Channel 9's antenna weights 13,500 lbs. Channel 7's 18,000 lbs. Channel 20's antenna exceeds 20,000 lbs and is 61.4 ft. long. Channel 24 is 36.1 ft long. There is a 3 ft spacer between the NTSC and DTV antenna. The total length is just over 100 ft Other data is not available on the Ch-9/29 or Ch-7 antenna systems at this time.
