Bill AB368 Passes Assembly

From: Wisconsin Section Control Manager Don Michalski W9IXG
To: ARRL Wisconsin members

Below is a message from our State Government Liaison, SGL, Jim Lackore,
AD9X:

 ******************************************************************
On Tuesday, October 2, 2001, the Wisconsin State Assembly unanimously
approved AB 368 -- Wisconsin's PRB-1 antenna legislation. The Bill now goes
to the Wisconsin Senate for consideration.
Senator Fred Risser (Democrat - District 26) is the lead sponsor for the
Bill in the Senate. "Stay tuned" for further details as they become
available.

 ****************************************************************

I want to thank those of you who helped get the bill passed with your
letters and phone calls to your representative. It is greatly appreciated
and, I think, was instrumental in our victory in the Assembly.

As Jim said, the bill now goes to the Senate. You will be called upon,
again, to send letters of support. Timing is important. We don't want to
wage our next campaign in earnest until we hear more about when this will be
passed to the Senate. I will notify you through this email service for
important news from ARRL section managers.

When the bill reaches the Senate floor, I want to present a unified
organization to the Senate with a common cause and plan on having only one
ARRL voice speak for the Section. That voice will be from Jim Lackore, our
SGL. He will present a positive, clear, concise, message on our need for
passage of this bill and answer any questions. The senators will have
already heard from you via your letters. Jim will seal the deal.

Again, thank you for your support and stay tuned!!

 73,
  Don
