Useful Preparedness Information

Emergency Preparedness Links

In the current issue of the California ACS Newsletter there was a reference to the following url: www.wireservices.com/hamsef This url contains information that is useful in helping to prepare for emergency communications.

A second url, www.races.net/fcc.html, updates the RACES frequencies and what hams are authorized to operate in the event of an emergency that necessitates the invoking of the President's War Emergency Powers. See paragraph 97.407.

Thanks to everyone that checked into the Oct 21st Sunday 8 AM RACES net on 7250 kHz LSB. The results were very encouraging as indicated by the wider coverage and strong signal reports in comparison to the regular Sunday RACES net on 3993.5 kHz LSB. Sunday, Oct 28th, at 8 AM, the RACES net will again be on 7250 kHz LSB and all hams with that have HF privileges for this frequency are encouraged to check-in. Please pass this to the members of your organization.
