SECTION MANAGER BULLETIN: Status of AB-368

Bill ARB-368 Future Looks Good

From: Wisconsin Section Manager W9IXG

Jim Lackore, AD9X, our State Government Liaison, has been in communications
with both Senator Risser and Senator Chvala (senate majority leader)
regarding AB-368 (which it still is called in the Senate).

In a letter from Senator Risser, he states: "...I, too, felt the hearing on
this bill progressed very well. And, in fact, I'm pleased to report that
the committee voted 7-0 to recommend it for passage" ".... I will continue
to do all I can to advance its passage".

In a letter from Senator Chvala, he thanks Jim for his efforts on this bill
and "... I appreciate your taking the time to bring this matter to my
attention and to share with me your first-hand experiences as an amateur
radio operator"... "Please be assured that I will keep your insightful
comments in mind as this issue is brought before the State Senate."

So, it appears that Senator Chvala is willing to let this bill come to the
Senate floor for vote this January. Later this year, we ask you to again
send letters or emails of support to your Senator. Jim will provide a
sample letter that you may use. I will keep you informed on this issue so
stay tuned.

Happy Thanksgiving!
