RMRA Repeaters Get New Home

Repeaters Moved to New Transmitter Building

The 2 meter and 440 MHz repeater systems' electronics were physically moved into the new Rib Mountain transmitter building Wednesday afternoon September 17, 2003. Total system downtime was about 160 minutes. Some of the components are shown here being moved by (l-r) Mark Hoenecke WB9YZR, Rich Maier KC9NW, and Paul Nelles K9DB. The fourth member of the team Dean Andrewjeski K9PT, is taking the picture.

The repeaters in their new location in skeleton configuration.

The one and five eighths diameter Heliax feedline terminates into a half inch pigtail that connects it to both the 2 meter and 75 cm systems. It was decided not to trim the excess 60 feet of feedline at this time since the repeater may not be in its final location. A Polyphaser lightning arrestor bonds the connection to the grounding bus.
