Herbert W. Bloedel was born on July 20, 1918 in Wausau, son of the late William E. and Emma (nee Reissmann) Bloedel Jr. Herbert was united in marriage to Alvina V. Maciaz on May 6, 1939 in Wausau. Herb proudly served with the 32nd Infantry Red Arrow Division - Medical Corp. during the Pacific Theator of WWII. He was a life-long member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Burns Post #388 and a member of the Rib Mountain Repeater Association. Herb was a master electrician and system integrator, retiring from Salvo Chemical and Zimpro Corporation after many years of dedicated service. Throughout his life Herb was an active outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, photography and keeping in touch with the world through Amateur Radio. Herb's devotion to family and friends always made him ready and willing to help out, "especially when something needed fixing". He was the father of Dave Bloedel N9TTB and the father-in-law of Allan Albrecht WB9VOV. Herb was a former board member of the RMRA. He died Sunday, June 20, 2004 at Community Health Care Wausau Hospital. The construction of this page is in progress. |
