18 May 2009

Board members present:
Rich Maier KC9NW
Dean Andrewjeski K9PT
Paul Nelles K9DB
Brian Seehafer N9ATQ
The meeting was called to order at 19:15 CST by President Rich Maier KC9NW.
Secretary’s Report: K9DB
- Minutes of the meeting of 20 April 2009 were presented in print and accepted as presented by consensus.
Treasurer’s Report: Submitted by e-mail to the Secretary by N9ATQ:
- Current balance $320.33
- Not included in this balance were donations of $950 for the new controller.
Old Business:
New Repeater Controller:
- N9ATQ reported the Link Systems RCL DSP404 controller was ordered on 23 April. Delivery is expected 3-4 weeks from the date of order.
144.81/145.41 Repeater at Brighton:
- K9DB reported that Todd Shea of the LaCrosse Weather office would like to see the Brighton repeater deployed so LaCrosse can have a reliable link to Taylor County. RF path analysis shows the 75 mile RF path will be marginal at best. K9PT suggested another IRLP node and remote 2 meter base to Brighton on Rib Mountain. An antenna and tower crew are the last remaining funding hurdles. K9DB reported on two possible sources.
New Business:
Field Day
- K9PT suggested the RMRA coordinate a Field Day station. He suggested Rib Mountain as a site. This will help in evaluating how well an HF station can operate in Rib Mountain’s high RF environment. K9PT will check with the DNR and assess equipment availability.
Topics from the Floor:
- None.
Meeting adjourned 20:25 CST.
Respectfully Submitted,
Paul Nelles K9DB
Secretary
